ALL SIX TOGETHER

One World. Here Is Everything So Far.

Six weeks ago I posted a cover and told you a world was coming.

Since then I've shown you six pages from Falconeria: Trials of Ash, one at a time, one week at a time. A city rising from Mediterranean stone. The great houses and their sigils, hawks for valor, eagles for dominion, owls for what is known and never spoken. The shadows gathering at the edges of power. A bird carrying a prophecy nobody believed in anymore. A forest where fate's first wheel begins to turn.

Today I'm showing you all six together for the first time.

If this is your first time here, let me tell you where this world came from.

“Fifteen years ago I was a young artist living in Corciano, a medieval hill town in Umbria, Italy, just outside Perugia. For two and a half months I drove through hill towns, walked through Orvieto, Rome, Florence, Siena. I stood inside the Palio in Siena and felt the passion of the Contrade in my chest. I walked into dovecotes carved from ancient stone in Orvieto and felt history in my bones in a way I had never felt before. I saw medieval pageantry and Renaissance architecture and the ruins of civilizations that had believed, completely and without question, that they would last forever.

I started drawing. I started asking questions. I never stopped.

What came out of that experience is a twelve-volume graphic novel arc with the political weight of Game of Thrones, the spiritual depth of Tolkien, and the visual language of the European masters, Breccia, Moebius, Toppi. Drawn in ink and wash on Bristol board. Custom hand drawn screen tones. A hybrid technique I developed myself that gives every page that ancient, tactile quality you can feel before you understand why.

I am Robert Revels. Artist. Storyteller. IP developer. And for 25 years, one of the most dedicated educators at Academy of Art University.

My students have gone on to work at Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel, and Crystal Dynamics. But the work I am most proud of is what I am building now — Revels Atelier, an independent studio where serious artists develop their craft, build their own original worlds, and learn to own what they create. I am also building my own. Trials of Ash is my debut graphic novel, the first book in a larger universe I have been carrying for years and am finally putting on the page.

I built this studio because I know what it costs to develop without real guidance. I paid that price in full. I am not interested in anyone else having to figure it out alone.
